What is Lansoprazole?
Lansoprazole is a medicine widely used to treat indigestion, heartburn, and acid reflux. It belongs to a group of medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors and works by reducing the amount of acid your stomach produces.

What are the symptoms of Acid Reflux and Heartburn?
Acid reflux is where acid from your stomach travels up to your throat. It can cause a burning feeling in your chest called heartburn. Heartburn is extremely common and affects is up to 25% of adults in the UK. Symptoms may also cause a sour taste in the mouth and may worsen after eating, and when lying down or bending forward.
How do I take Lansoprazole?
You should take this tablet whole with a drink of water or squash first thing in the morning. It will not affect your stomach, so you can take it with or without food
Once you feel better (often after a few days or weeks), you can stop taking it.
What are the main side effects of Lansoprazole?
Headache is the most common side effect of taking Omeprazole. Nausea and stomach pain is also common side effect.
