What is Fexofenadine?
Fexofenadine is a second-generation non-drowsy antihistamine used to treat allergic rhinitis (commonly known as hayfever). Fexofenadine is commonly used when over-the-counter antihistamines have not been successful. It works by blocking the action of histamine helping relieve the symptoms of hayfever.
Sufferers of hay fever often exhibit symptoms including a runny nose, sneezing, and red, itchy, and watering eyes.
How does Fexofenadine work?
Fexofenadine is an antihistamine. Antihistamines work by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body. Histamine can cause itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. Also, in some people histamine can close up the bronchial tubes (air passages of the lungs) and make breathing difficult. Histamine can also cause some people to have hives, with severe itching of the skin .
How do I take Fexofenadine?
You should take this tablet each day preferably with or just after a meal with a drink of water. You should try to take fexofenadine tablets at about the same time every day.

What are the main side effects of Fexofenadine?
Common side effects with Fexofenadine include feeling sick (nausea), feeling sleepy, headaches, dry mouth and feeling dizzy. You should contact your GP or Pharmacist if you are experiencing any of these side effects
