What is Tadalafil?
Tadalafil is a medication used to treat Erectile Dysfunction (ED). It belongs to a group of medicines called phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE 5) inhibitors. PDE 5 Inhibitors work by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis in response to sexual stimulation and allowing more blood to flow into the penis and helps with getting and maintaining an erection. Tadalafil will only help you to get an erection if you are sexually stimulated.
How to take Tadalafil?
One tablet should be taken at least 30 minutes before sexual activity. Unlike Sildenafil, Tadalafil can be taken either on an empty stomach or after food on an empty stomach or with little food as possible in your stomach.
You should not take more than one tablet every 36 hours and you should always take Tadalafil as directed by the prescriber or Doctor. If you find you are having sex twice a week or more, there is daily Tadalafil tablet which might be preferable.
It is also advised that you avoid excessive alcohol as drinking alcohol may affect your ability to get an erection and may temporarily lower your blood pressure
What is the recommended starting dose for Tadalafil?
The recommended starting dose is 10mg. This is to ensure you are not experiencing any side effects to the medication. If you are not experiencing side effects and 10mg is not be effective for you, then you may request the higher 20mg dose.
What are the main side effects of Tadalafil?
Headache is the most common side effect of taking Tadalafil. Muscle aches and indigestion is also a common side effect.
